College and Universities- Depending on your income, you many qualify for grants, scholarships or financial aid at four of New York’s college and universities. Each school can answer any questions you have about courses and qualifications for earning a free or almost free CNA training.

Adult Learning Centers- Through the New York City Department of Education, there are adult learning centers in all five boroughs offering free CNA training courses. There are also adult learning centers in most communities. If you contact your local adult learning center, they can tell you how to find out if you qualify for free CNA training.
Scholarships and Grants- Several schools offer scholarships to aid in the tuition costs for your CNA training. If you live in New York City there is a grant that you can use at most schools. Work Force 1 Grant gives you a voucher to apply toward your tuition costs. It is not accepted everywhere and can take a few months to receive if you qualify.
Nursing Homes- Most nursing homes do not offer the actual training but there are several that will either pay for your training or pay you while you get your CNA training.
